If you need more information on your Scheme entitlements, you should contact your Pay Office or ComSuper or visit the DFRDB website www.dfrdb.gov.au. The fact sheets available will provide specific information on topics such as taxation, retirement benefits, invalidity benefits, dependants’ benefits and appeal provisions. The fact sheets are updated regularly to reflect any changes.
Pre-retirement information
The Military Information Service at ComSuper can provide you with an estimate of your potential benefits from the Scheme, including an estimate of your taxation liability.
Requests for benefit estimates can be made by phone or in writing up to five years in advance of your anticipated date of discharge from the Defence Force. However, for discharge dates more than twelve months in advance, initial estimates should be obtained using the i-Estimator program.
Remember to quote your service number when making enquiries to ComSuper.
