To help you understand your DFRDB scheme, we provide members free seminars around Australia.

Seminars are run by your administrator, ComSuper, on behalf of your trustee of DFRDB, Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation and the Department of Defence.

Attend a seminar to better understand:

  • how DFRDB or MilitarySuper works
  • the importance of contributions to grow your super
  • protection through super in the event of invalidity and death
  • your benefits following discharge
  • retirement options.

Request a seminar

We arrange seminars directly with individual establishments, units, ships and the like. Seminars are tailored and timed to fit with operational requirements. We can present a full one day seminar program (see one day program example below) where members attend the seminar or seminars which best meet their retirement planning needs.

Larger establishments may prefer to arrange a selection of seminars over two days.

Unit pay representatives and Defence Corporate Support personnel can review seminar requirements and request on site seminars. Please make any request as soon as possible to assist us plan and coordinate your superannuation seminar request. Email your seminar request to militaryseminarteam@comsuper.gov.au

Individual member requests

If you feel there is a need for onsite presentations, please raise your request through your unit pay representative or Defence Corporate Support personnel, with a view to gaining the support of your commanding officer beforehand.
