Resignation Benefits

Follow this link to the quick guide to DFRDB Resignation Benefits

If you leave the Scheme without an entitlement to retirement pay or invalidity pay, you are entitled to a resignation benefit.

In these circumstances, you have the following options:

  • a lump sum refund of your contributions paid into the Scheme

    plus

  • a superannuation guarantee top-up (in limited circumstances to ensure that the  member receives the equivalent of the minimum superannuation contribution, currently 9% of salary)

    plus

  • a gratuity (depending on individual circumstances)

    plus

  • a superannuation productivity benefit

    or

  • defer  your benefit (in limited circumstances)

Please note you do have the option to elect to preserve your benefit instead of taking a refund. See form D60 Election for Preservation of DFRDB Rights and Superannuation Productivity Benefit (PDF 269KB) and the Preserved Benefits Fact Sheet DB03 (PDF 324KB).
